He understanbly feels this externship opportunity was one of the biggest reasons for his success in landing a prestigious general surgery residency in the United States. Cardiothoracic (CT) surgery is a fellowship you do after a 5-year general surgery residency, hence an externship in CT surgery will be a valuable resume addition for Gen. Surgery residency as well.
