It's not uncommon to see a Residency program website say - we need you to have, or prefer you to have or would love it if you have observerships / externships / research experience in the United States.....and then, that's immediately followed up by declaring - WE DO NOT OFFER OBSERVERSHIPS OR EXTERNSHIPS ..
LOL - sure, that must make one sad, but you can also see through the humor on that one. Makes me say - Why do you expect something you cannot offer ?
