Hi digitaldoc, thanx 4 putting up such a informative forum..Mt.Sinai Univ charges around $400 for each application.I wanted to know whether the money is refunded if an applicant is not selected or secures externship elsewhere or the money is gone?
Thanx
I am not sure of that, did they tell you that the application fees were non-refundable - though I feel $400 sounds more like the actual observership fee rather than the application processing fee?
And was that for the surgery observership ?
Thanks
hi,can some body tell me about the duration of clinical electives in newyork...i have heard that if some body exceeds the duration of 8 weeks than he/she is not going to be eligible for applying in programs in newyork?????
plz help me out
Guess you were talking about the possible 12-week Electives rule in NY state
reply from wyckoff heights for observership enquiry
"Unfortunately, we do not offer observership/externship in the Department of Medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center."
Thank you.
And yet I know a person who did her observership exactly there - which means they may not have a formal program, but if individual staff physicians (especially IMG docs from your country) agress, then the department agrees too.
I was looking at the beth israel listing you had for the pain management observership, and when i clicked on the link, it onlyl showed me links to fellowship programs for those already board certified. I would be deeply in gratitude if you could direct me to the area where observership information is contained for the program. Thank you so much. And btw. what a WONDERFUL SITE!!!!
The page has changed - but try asking about observerships at beth israel pain medicine here:
