Try out the "NRMP Residency Match Planner"
After writing those lengthy strategy plans for the 2008 residency Match and then again for the 2009 residency match, I finally had a stroke of common-sense and figured I could rather put my Javascript programming skills to use and automate the process...yeah laziness is setting in as my age is headed northwards :-P
So, instead I am gonna leave the new IMG folks at the mercy of the not-so-aesthetic-but-useful "NRMP Match Planner"...he he not really, am gonna call this a beta version and keep fine-tuning to make it more clear and self-explanatory.
Thanks to the omnipresent Dr. Naeem Majeed for helping me weed out some errors :-)
The intended focus of the planner is to drive home the urgency of an early start on residency match planning, because the need for good scores, freshness from medical school / post-graduation, US clinical experience and all documents, including letters of recommendation, ready almost a year before the planned start year of residenc, makes the whole process a survival of the fittest AND the quickest :-)
As of now, have included years up to 2020, coz' residency planning for your grand-kids can wait until later ;-)
Notes:
1. The match planner gives the most ideal scenario to make an application very competitive, like having both Step 1 and Step 2 CK scores ready by August - but technically it is possible to apply with a single score too.
2. Your Internet Browser should have Javascript enabled - You are welcome to drop me a comment on any error that you might discover...
