PRE-ECLAMPSIA / ECLAMPSIA

Though the standard Abbreviation associated with Pre-eclampsia is PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension) , for our sake let's make it PEH (Pre - Eclamptic Hypertension)

Mild Pre-eclampsia

P - Proteinuria > 0.3 gms / 24 hrs [+1 on Dipstick]
E - Edema
H - Hypertension ( >140/90 mm Hg)

Moderate / Severe Pre-Eclampsia

P - Proteinuria > 5 gm / 24 hrs [+3 on Dipstick]
E - Eye Disturbances, Elevated Liver Enzymes & Epigastric Pain
H - Hypertension (> 160/110 mm Hg) or Hemolysis (HELLP Syndrome)
