WARNING: About FMG America & Scramble

A year back, I had read somewhere on Google answers (or was it Google groups) about a reader complaining bad business with FMG America, saying that they did not return calls once they got the money. I refrained from putting anything on the blog for want of more solid information - until, a reader pointed out a source online which clearly indicates customer resent with the company.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is an organization with a "purpose to act as a mutually trusted intermediary between consumers and businesses to resolve disputes, to facilitate communication, and to provide information on ethical business practices." Source: Wikipedia

There are many branches or chapters of the BBB, with the New Jersey BBB being of them. Click here to read what the New Jersey BBB Reports on FMG America.

If any reader has had any personal experience with FMG America, good or bad, we hope you share it with us.

Thanks to the reader who showed us the report !

But - things have got interesting . Look at the comments below which come from people who have had good experiences with FMG America. The plot thickens eh ? ;-)

paid them 4200 dollars and some old guy Dr. Norman Cohen called me and told me he is a specialist in California and for my paying them this is the email he sent me below with numbers to 4 doctors, the doctors have no idea who FMG America is or why Dr. Cohen is calling them and saying he is trying to help me. He send me this email and told me to follow these rules before I went to some stupid private practice doc who has nothing to do with fmgamerica no real us clinical experience nothing

The guy sent me this email below

Here are VERY IMPORTANT RULES!

1) Be humble and enthusiastic.

2) Give the impression that you wish to help the doctor and staff any way you can.

3) Never be demanding. ACCEPT ANYTHING YOU ARE OFFERED EVEN IF IT SEEMS AT FIRST NOT WHAT YOU EXPECTED. We know that this experience will be invaluable to you and exactly what residency directors want. It is what you need to get the solid letter of recommendation to get into a US residency.

4) To maintain your confidentiality it is best not to mention FMG America. Residency directors (and the attendings that sponsor you) want to see that you took the initiative yourself. I am just a friend of a friend that is helping to advise and mentor you if anyone should ask. Again, this is to protect your confidentiality.

Let me know as soon as you have your interview. You need to keep me informed minute to minute. E mail is best.

GOOD LUCK!

Sincerely,

Dr. Cohen
