Post-Match Scramble Timeline

When Mid-March arrives, and all those registered with the NRMP match who submitted a Rank Order Lists (ROL) of residency programs, will be informed by email of their match outcome. This email from NRMP will have a subject-line that will say "Did I match ?" [ We must compliment NRMP's cheekiness to maintain suspense in the heat of the moment ;-) ] But their attempt to maintain the suspense does not end with that - this email will ONLY tell you whether you got a match or no.

On March 13th, 2007, at 12:00 pm Eastern time (i.e. New York Time) , the NRMP website will post a list of unfilled positions on their website. No, this list is not public ! This list can only be accessed after logging in by people who were registered with the NRMP. So what about the others who did not register ? Psssst - Hint: Got friends who know how to attach PDF files to emails ? ;-) Hmmmmmmmmm

March 13th and 14th 2007 (upto 5 pm Local program time) are the
'Scramble days', atleast technically, coz' it seems about 5-10% positions are unfilled even after the scramble and such programs may accept applications even upto the start of Residency (1st July 2007)

On March 15th 2007, the guys & gals who got a match will know WHERE they matched.

Now.....If only there was a way to stop that time and make all the calls and faxes you wanted to ....
