Do Not Type your Personal Statement Directly into MyERAS

And before you begin to doubt my sanity, let me clarify the title of this post.

Remember that MyERAS is programmed to automatically log out after 15 minutes of inactivity. And unless you are doing a totally shi##y job on your statement, you will take more than those few minutes to build, polish and repolish your personal statements. Mostly you will lose track of time and forget to save it now and then.

And what happens when you try to 'save' all that hardwork on MyERAS after login has timed-out ? It simply says you have been logged out and hitting the 'back button' on the browser does not retrieve all that you wrote.

It is therefore very advisable that you first type out your Personal Statement onto notepad or word and then paste it to the space on MyERAS , preview it for any red-marks and unrecognized characters and then save it.

(I prefer Notepad since the text-editor on MyERAS does not recognize some characters on Word editor)
