DON'T FORGET THESE USUALS

The usuals .....

1. A Firm & Dry Hand Shake: Firm, we all understand - but Dry ? yeah - I remember the often times I got a moist / clammy handshake from newly introduced people and I instinctively went 'ewwwwww' at the feeling - No one likes to have your sweat on their hands. Do dry you hands in your pockets, pants if you have to , but keep it dry before you enter and offer a handshake.

2. Eye Contact: Indicates Confidence and Trust. Looking elsewhere while talking could also be intepreted as rude.

3. Good posture: The next time you get a chance to sit in a public place like a library and observe people (I mean besides 'checking them out'..he he) note what impression each person's posture makes on your mind about the person. Slacker? Confused ? Unsure ? Confident ? Attentive ? You will know what I mean ...posture is a strong body language and use it well. A stout posture could also mean nervousness, so keep a smile, sit erect with ur back rested on the chair backrest and avoid sitting on the edges. Lean forward from time to time while the interviewer speaks to suggest attentiveness. Lastly, simply copying and following the posture that the interviewer uses is another suggested strategy by body language specialists...

4. Smell Good or at least don't smell horrific: As I mentioned on the CS Blog, Americans in particular loathe bad body odors, so a good deodorant / perfume is indicated.

More will follow soon....
