Got this as a forward from a friend - A good format that covers pretty much the style and content of a thank you email after you get that precious Residency interview invite :-) Do change the format as per your personal style and based on the information that you were already provided in the invite ..
Remember that your personal connection with a specific program begins with this reply email or phone call, so do give it good attention. No spelling mistakes ! To make sure, copy-paste your email onto a word document and use it's spell-check feature to clean up mistakes. :-)

could you please throw some light on `what to reply for the rejections`? ..im confused if one needs to formally thank them for considering the application?

Though a rejection is usually the end of the story, it's good professional behaviour to maintain sportmanship and poise by replying with an email thanking them for the trouble to go over the application. :-) good point pal...
i think we have to be good
but not that good good......to thank them for throwing our application into trash ;-)
or maybe send a corny email saying its unfortunate for them that they lost you ;-)
